Financial monitoring

The tasks and functions of the State Service for Financial Monitoring (hereafter referred to as Derzhfinmonitoryng) are set up by the Law of Ukraine «On prevention and counteraction to the legalization (laundering) of illegally received funds; on prevention and counteraction to the funding of terrorism and dissemination of weapons of mass destruction» and by the Rules and Procedures of the State Service for Financial Monitoring adopted in accordance with the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 537 dated July 29, 2015.

The core responsibilities of the Derzhfinmonitoryng:

- Implementation of state policy concerning the prevention and counteraction to the legalization (laundering) of illegally received funds; on prevention and counteraction to the funding of terrorism and dissemination of weapons of mass destruction;
- Analysis (operational and strategic) of information about financіal operations which are subject to financial monitoring;
- National risk assessment;
- Representation of Ukraine at international organizations acting in the area of preventing and counteracting the legalization (laundering) of illegally received funds; on prevention and counteraction to the funding of terrorism and dissemination of weapons of mass destruction.

In accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 1085/2010 dated December 9, 2010 «On the optimization of the system of central bodies of executive power» the activity of the Derzhfinmonitoryng is directed and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine represented by the Minister of Finance of Ukraine.
